Senior Solicitor – Private Wealth Disputes

Dispute Resolution  |  Wimbledon

Morr & Co LLP is an established but modern top 200 law firm with plans for growth.

We pride ourselves on providing high quality and creative thinking, as well as generating enduring relationships. The firm’s culture of listening to and supporting others applies as much to the approach we take with our clients as it does to the connections we build with our colleagues.

We have a long history and big ambitions, and we believe that we combine the quality, capability, and resources of a large firm with the approachability of a smaller practice.

As a firm, we are also committed to harnessing technology in order to continually improve the quality, efficiency and delivery of our services.

We are seeking an ambitious and experienced solicitor with at least 7 years’ PQE to join our established Dispute Resolution team in Wimbledon as a Senior Solicitor specialising in Private Wealth Disputes.

For the right candidate, this role offers significant scope for career progression, including the opportunity to enter the firm’s established pathway towards partnership.

The successful candidate will join an established Private Wealth Disputes team comprising two partners, an associate and a trainee, within our wider Dispute Resolution practice. The firm also has substantial and highly regarded Private Client and Court of Protection teams, providing a strong existing platform from which to develop the practice further.

This is an opportunity for an established contentious probate solicitor who wants to do more than simply manage a caseload. We are looking for someone who wants to help shape the next stage of our Private Wealth Disputes practice, developing areas of particular expertise and building a recognised profile within the sector.

The successful candidate will confidently manage a core caseload of private wealth disputes, whilst identifying opportunities to develop niche areas of practice within the wider private wealth disputes market. We are open to where those opportunities might lie and are particularly interested in someone who brings ideas, enthusiasm and a clear sense of where they could build something distinctive.

That might include developing expertise and relationships within areas such as the charity and legacy sector, international private wealth, professional and independent trustees, or the wider estate and trust administration sector, including accountants and other “non-legal” professionals involved in advising families, estates and trusts. Experience or established connections in these areas would be welcomed but are not essential.

We would particularly welcome candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Strong technical experience in contentious probate and private wealth disputes;
  • A genuine interest in developing niche areas of expertise within the sector;
  • The ability and appetite to build professional relationships and referral networks;
  • Thought leadership and profile-building ambitions;
  • Commercial awareness and strong business development skills;
  • The confidence to contribute ideas about the future direction of the practice; and
  • A commitment to delivering exceptional client care.

There is already a strong foundation in place: an established specialist team and close relationships with colleagues across Private Client and Court of Protection. The opportunity is to build on that foundation, developing new relationships, identifying areas of opportunity and creating a distinctive practice and profile of your own within the wider team.

For an ambitious senior lawyer, this is an opportunity to accelerate their career in an increasingly prominent area of legal practice, with the support of an established team and the scope to make a meaningful contribution to where the practice goes next activities

We offer very competitive salaries and generous benefits and for the right candidate, we are open to being flexible in regard to location and hybrid working.

You will also benefit from our career development programme. We are award winning in relation to the investment we make in our people, and we will provide you with clear expectations of your role, including a route-map for your progression, assessment, and individual feedback. You will be provided with access to technical training tailored to you and will be rewarded based on what you contribute, not your tenure.

Morr & Co LLP are committed to promoting equal opportunities for all candidates irrespective of your age, sex, race, colour, religion, religious belief, national original marital status, sexual orientation, physical disability or mental disability, including persons who have aids or have tested HIV-positive or any other legally protected classification, except as may be permitted by law. The firm is committed to provide an environment in which the rights and dignity of all its employees are respected, and which is free from discrimination, prejudice, intimidation and all forms of harassment including bullying.
If, as a result of a disability, you believe that there are aspects of the recruitment process or job that you would find more difficult, please contact a member of HR Team as soon as possible. We will then be able to discuss with you any reasonable adjustments that could be made to the recruitment process or the job itself.
Any equality data provided by you will be used to monitor our diversity policies and practices.
