Working within our successful Family team, this is a role that will see the successful candidate supporting Lawyers and Paralegals with all administration tasks. Key Responsibilities To offer thorough support to lawyers by assisting with a range of legal and administrative tasks, while ensuring time recording targets associated with these duties are met. Reviewing and drafting a range of commercial property documents (leases, licences, sale and purchase contracts, replies to CPSEs, etc) Reviewing and reporting on title, property searches, due diligence enquiries Assisting clients with completing due diligence enquiries Managing data rooms. Preparing and managing stamp duty land tax returns, Companies House filings Assisting with Land Registry applications generally and requisitions received. Preparing completion statements/statements of account. Supporting fee-earners with business development activities, including drafting blog and articles Under supervision, ensure client communication and contact is regular, timely and meets client expectations. . Creating editable and non-editable PDF bundles of documents Raising invoices, setting up payments, transferring money and managing disbursements Managing all incoming and outgoing post; printing, scanning, and binding To conduct matters on behalf of clients according to the standards laid down in the Firm’s manuals and instructions from your supervisor and the Department Head, at all times complying with the requirements of the SRA. Conduct thorough legal research on case law, statutes, and legal precedents to support ongoing cases. To apply the law effectively to client problems and to assist with the provisions of solutions. To follow the firm’s procedures when recording time and managing the billing process. To meet your utilisation and billing targets and to effectively manage work in progress and billing. To monitor and consider client fees, including taking money on account and assisting with the provision of costs updates to clients. To manage work in accordance with the firm’s procedures and quality standards. To ensure confidentiality and security of all documentation. To process work efficiently and effectively Key Skills Planning & Organising – must be able to plan and organise own workload. Problem Solving – ability to think clearly, logically and finding effective solutions to problems. Decision Making – ability to make clear, sound decisions based on criteria of job description and to communicate the same. Person Specification: Knowledge/Experience – At least 1 year’s recent experience of working as a Paralegal, would be desirable. Time spent studying relevant area of law would be desirable. Skills and Abilities Ability to make well-informed, timely, and effective decisions. Prioritising tasks, meeting deadlines, and efficiently managing multiple responsibilities. Ensuring accuracy in documentation, reports, and operational processes.
