CDD, AML & Risk Assessment Supporting onboarding compliance (CDD & AML) for new and existing clients. Assisting the Client Onboarding team in carrying out verification of identity and proof of address checks using approved systems and dealing with queries Obtaining company documents from Companies House and other registers to complete CDD on company directors and beneficial owners Assisting fee earners in carrying out SoF and SoW investigations and collating SoF / SoW documentation in accordance with the firms AML policy Analysing SoF / SoW documents and identifying such further information / supporting evidence which must be collected from the client Analyse risk assessments and provide a summary report to matter controllers to enable matter controller to assess and sign off Client Matter Risk Assessments and SoF & SoW checks Provide clear, accurate advice to the onboarding team and fee earners on CDD/KYC requirements, client and matter inception, source of funds, third-party payments, and general AML queries Liaise with the Client Onboarding team to ensure that all SoF & SoW documents are complete and logged to contact records and matter Compliance Folder in line with the firms’ policies. Assisting with carrying out pre-exchange of contracts risk assessment ensuring all SoF & SoW documentation is complete and risk assessments have been properly updated Compliance Advisory & Support Assist the Risk Committee in dealing with day-to-day queries regarding the firms AML policies and their implementation Interpret AML regulations and internal policies to make risk-based decisions. Escalate complex or reputational issues to Risk Committee with proposed actions. Projects & Training Support wider risk and compliance projects, including creating and delivering training. Update guidance and forms for the team and firm. Present on compliance topics as required. Monitoring & Reviews Undertake periodic and trigger-based regulatory file reviews Investigate screening alerts (sanctions, PEPs, adverse media, ESG/reputational concerns). Ensure compliance with internal policies on business acceptance and ongoing monitoring. Skills required Knowledge/Experience – Degree in Law, Business, or a related field preferred. Previous experience in AML, CDD/KYC, or compliance within a legal or financial services environment. Experience working within Property Law would be advantageous Strong understanding of AML regulations and risk-based approaches Excellent communication skills Strong analytical ability and attention to detail Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively High integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive information Adaptability to regulatory changes and fast-paced environments Collaborative approach with a focus on continuous improvement Planning & Organising – must be able to plan and organise own workload Problem Solving – ability to think clearly, logically and finding effective solutions to problems Salary and benefits We offer very competitive salaries and generous benefits.
