Working within our successful Dispute Resolution team, this is a role that will see the successful candidate supporting Lawyers and Paralegals with all administration tasks. Senior Commercial Litigator – Location, flexible. We are a highly regarded, Legal 500 ranked, Dispute Resolution team with a strong reputation for excellent results. We pride ourselves on delivering strategic, high-quality, and commercially focused advice to clients. Our Dispute Resolution team is made up of several specialist areas of litigation from high quality Tax Litigation to Contested Trusts and Probate. We are now seeking an ambitious and experienced Senior Commercial Litigator, 6 years + PQE to work both independently and closely with the Department Head and/or the Managing Partner who also sits as a Deputy District Judge. About the Role The right candidate must thrive on tackling complex and high-value disputes, offer pragmatic solutions while maintaining the highest professional and ethical standards. Client care must be at the heart of what you do as you play a key role in managing disputes across a range of sectors. Your responsibilities will include: Commercial Litigation: Handling contractual disputes, misrepresentation claims, and breach of warranty matters. Shareholder and Partnership Disputes: Advising on unfair prejudice claims, derivative actions, and partnership breakdowns. Breach of restrictive covenants jointly with employment team Professional Negligence: Pursuing and defending claims against professionals, including solicitors, accountants, and surveyors. Debt Recovery and Enforcement: Advising on pre-action recovery strategies, County Court and High Court proceedings, and enforcement options. Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR): Representing clients in mediations, arbitrations, and other forms of dispute resolution to achieve commercially sensible outcomes. Judicial Review and Public Law: Acting on challenges to public authority decisions, regulatory disputes, and public sector claims. Construction disputes – including FIDIC and JCT Contracts Applications under the Companies Acts. Our cases are high value claims, almost exclusively High Court BPC/Chancery but a strong background in Alternative Dispute Resolution representing clients in mediations, arbitrations, and other forms of dispute resolution to achieve commercially sensible outcomes is required. Commercial Awareness: A strong understanding of the client’s needs and risk management, with the ability to provide pragmatic and commercially focused solutions. Business Development: A proactive approach to networking, client development and contributing to the team’s growth through referrals and networking. Skills and Attributes Exceptional drafting and negotiation skills, with the ability to craft clear and persuasive legal arguments. Strong case management, handling multiple disputes and competing deadlines with a pragmatic and solution-focused approach. A collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills, able to build strong relationships with colleagues, clients, and counsel. Experience in High Court litigation, particularly within the Business & Property Courts. In-depth knowledge of the Disclosure Pilot Scheme, with practical experience in electronic disclosure and the use of e-disclosure platforms. Strategic litigation planning, including the ability to manage and execute high-value disputes effectively. Proven experience in interim applications, case management conferences, and procedural hearings. Expertise in injunctive relief applications and urgent court proceedings. Strong understanding of alternative dispute resolution (ADR), including mediation and settlement negotiations. Experience in drafting witness statements and settlement agreements. Knowledge of costs budgeting and case management, with an understanding of litigation funding, ATE insurance, and costs recover Why Join Us?
