Prior to becoming a Solicitor, Kathy worked as a registered Nurse and Midwife in both the UK and overseas. She has extensive medical knowledge and she is recognised for her sensitive approach with clients.
Kathy acts for clients in all areas of Clinical Negligence and has settled many complex and frequently high value claims. Kathy also has extensive experience in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and particularly birth injury claims. She acts for parents with babies, or children, who have developed Cerebral Palsy through negligent obstetric care. One of her claims settled for £5 million. She also acts for mothers who have suffered perennial or bladder damage through negligent treatment.
Kathy takes on cases where clients have suffered a head injury through trauma due to a defendant’s negligence, or through the failure to treat infection. She also deals with spinal injury claims some of which involve a condition known as Cauda Equine Syndrome. Kathy’s other claims relate to medical, orthopaedic and surgical negligence.
Kathy also acts as a professional trustee. She is an AvMA panel member and an accredited APIL (Association of Personal Injury Lawyers) Senior Litigator.
In her spare time Kathy is a volunteer at the Royal Hospital for Neuro Disability.
