The dangers of defective pavements

The injuries to David Keeble, the 82 year-old who suffered a broken nose and bruising when he tripped on badly repaired paving stones outside the Belfry Centre in Redhill, highlights the dangers, especially to the elderly of defective pavements, says Peregrine Lavington who heads up Morrisons Personal Injury department.

Peregrine, who has over 30 years experience in bringing such claims urges people to report hazards on roads and pavements to the local county council to help avoid accidents in the future. Councils should operate inspection regimes intended to deal with defects on pavements but these are not always effective.

If you or anyone you know has been the victim of a tripping accident on defective pavements, contact Peregrine and he or a member of his team will be able to advise whether they may be able to pursue a claim for compensation.
