My Role & Experience:
I am an Associate in the Commercial Property Team and head up the team in our Redhill Office. I am an experienced solicitor, with a background in Development, Landlord & Tenant and General Commercial Property matters. I qualified in September 2000 and joined Morrisons in May 2015.
I have acted in a variety of transactions, but one most noticeable transaction was for a Landowner in connection with its purchase of a development site in central London. I oversaw the acquisition of the site, assisted on the property side of obtaining planning permission for development, acted in securing the finance against the site and the eventual sale of 278 residential plots in one transaction.
I also have experience in acting for both Landlords and Tenants in connection with their property folios. This includes dealing with day-to-day management enquiries, negotiating Leases – both new Leases and renewal Leases – and buying and selling freehold interests in land.
I regularly work with our Corporate Team to provide assistance on the property aspects of business sales and purchases. I regularly deal with sales and purchases involving one property or multiple properties.
My Area of Expertise:
I have a general interest in all areas of Commercial Property, but do seem to attract the weird and wonderful. As well as acting in connection with the sale and purchase of land or negotiating leases, I have been instructed before to act in connection with the purchase of a pier. I’m not afraid to tackle the ordinary or the strange!
I am involved with the community and external associations. I am the secretary for the Parents’ Association at my daughter’s school. As well as carrying out the secretarial functions for the meetings, I regularly assist in organising the annual bonfire night party for 650 people and the bi-annual ball for 250 people.
Something you may not know:
Half of me has been on TV – a programme called “Lift Off”.
I like the cartoon Garfield a lot.
I have developed a talent and reputation for making children’s dressing-up and theatre costumes – Mary, Puss In Boots, Jessie the Cowgirl, a Greek Goddess and a 6’ 7” Tinkerbell costume to name a few.
I dislike putting my face in the water, but despite that have white water rafted in Alaska and snorkelled in Belize and The Gallapagos Islands. I have also glacier walked in Alaska.
I play the piano and flute and am a keen amateur photographer. I speak 3 languages at home on a regular basis and 2 on a daily basis.
