Morrisons host final R&R Connects of 2017 for local businesses

Our final Redhill & Reigate Connects (R&R) of 2017 was held on Thursday 30th November at the Old Reigatian RFC club house. In what can be a busy build up to Christmas for some, we still saw around 60 guests brave the cold winter weather and join us for a festive evening of networking, drinks and canapés.

The sponsor for R&R Connects this time was 4D Data Centres (4D-DC), who came very prepared to make it an interactive and fun networking event for all those involved. In one corner of the room 4D-DC had created a Christmas themed computer game, which provided our guests with the opportunity to run around their data centre while trying to avoid the evil snowmen! Congratulations to Georgina Dale (Avocado Audio Visual Services) for topping the leader board and winning a virtual reality headset from our sponsor.

As well as their bespoke game, 4D-DC also had members of their team on hand to take guests through their Cloud Portal services, showing them an overview of how it works alongside the benefits it provides to businesses.

As the evening gained momentum Karen Lord, Partner within our corporate and commercial team in Redhill, took to the floor to thank our guests for their continued support. Karen highlighted what a year it has been both for Morrisons Solicitors and the local business community before introducing our sponsor Jack Bedell-Pearce, Managing Director of 4D Data Centres.

Jack gave an overview of the services that 4D-DC provide before moving on to what has become a rather hot topic of conversation in recent months…cryptocurrency and Bitcoin. To help engage with this daunting phenomenon, Jack got our guests to sign up to a live poll, asking questions to the audience and showing the percentage of votes on screen, which was a great way to compare the differing opinions in the room.

After the speeches were finished it was time to pick the winners of our regular business card prize draw. Congratulations this time go to Morgan Arnell (Crumbs Brewing) and Steve Frank (Woodlands Estate Agents), who took home a complimentary virtual reality headset from our sponsor and a Morrisons gift bag.

Thank you to all those that have continuously supported R&R Connects throughout 2017 and we look forward to welcoming you all back again at our first event of 2018 on Thursday 25th January.

Have a great Christmas and New Year.
