We are delighted to announce that Holly Chantler has been appointed by the Office of the Public Guardian as one of 68 panel deputies in England and Wales and the only panel deputy in Surrey.
A deputy is someone appointed by the Court of Protection to look after the affairs of an individual who is unable to manage their affairs by reason of mental incapacity. A panel deputy is someone with specialist knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and has the experience and skill to act in the role of deputy, usually being appointed where there is no else willing or able to act as a deputy or where there has been a breakdown in family trust and relationships.
Appointment to the panel followed a detailed application process with over 900 applicants and reflects both Holly’s personal experience and commitment to this area of work. Commentating on the appointment, Holly said “I am absolutely delighted to have been appointed as a panel deputy. I am passionate about helping older and vulnerable clients and their families and the appointment recognises both my expertise in this area and that of the team at Morrisons”.
